We've had another birthday to celebrate in our family. My sweetie pie husband turned the big FOUR OOOOH (a.k.a. 40) yesterday! We celebrated by giving him this big ole birthday cake...

Ten years ago today at 12:52 p.m. in the afternoon my husband and I met the most beautiful baby girl we had ever seen. God had blessed us with our first child, our daughter, Hannah. When I saw her for the very first time, I never knew my heart could feel so much love, it felt as though it would burst. And now ten years later that love has only grown more & more. Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!!! We Love You So Much!!!

Mohair!

I just wanted to share an early Christmas present to...shhh..myself :) Found this great deal on ebay...3 yds of various beautiful mohairs. Also was so priviledged to 'meet' Heidi Hollis from Citico Ridge Bear Co., she was the artist selling the lot of mohair. She was so very nice! It was fun chatting back and forth with her :0) And, she was soooo kind in sending an extra gift of several sets of glass eyes along with my mohair! What a sweetheart!! Thanks again Heidi! Ok...here's my gorgeous new mohair....

Here's another peek at the progress of my new bear...please forgive the blurry picture and the fact that the poor critter only has one eyelid in place at the moment...

I'm really happy with his progress so far, I can't wait to get his other eyelid in place and do more shading which I sooo enjoy :) But sadly, it will have to wait until later on this afternnoon, the grocery store is calling and is in desperate need of more of my money so I better not make them wait...lol :)

Home again

Just got back home from a lovely trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We stayed in this beautiful cabin located deep in the woods in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. No internet access, no phone...just God's beauty all around. No other cabins or homes near by, only a little creek across the drive to keep us company.

Yes, in case you're wondering, my husband had to drag me kicking and screaming when it was time to leave for home...

Blinded by the light...

Ever been woke up by a 4 year old before? If so, then you know they can come up with some pretty creative ideas to get you out of bed in the morning. I thought I would share the story of how my son got me out of bed yesterday morning.

Now I must first set the scene so you can appreciate this story from a first person point of view of the events as they unfolded.

I am sleeping peacefully in my dark, dark room when I hear my little boy's sweet voice ask "Mommy are you going to get up?"..."Yes honey - in just a minute or two ok?". I hear tiny footsteps running away down the hall as I fall back into a relaxing sleep...once again I hear that sweet voice "Mommy?"...I slowly open my eyes...and when what to my wondering eyes should appear but a camera flash being held quite near...as my eyes attempt to focus and recoup from the glare...away he flew down the hall only his tiny footsteps could I hear....
